Back from the third test ride. Joint overhaul is done . No vibration, no sounds. The valve cover is still leaking. Noe only on the back of the engine. ELRING cork gasket, red high-temp gasket maker on the cover before putting the gasket and STILL leaking.... It goes all the way through the engine bl...

Well... Truth is that the old corked one was there for ages and zero leak. Just noticed a red hard film in the cover. Perhaps a red rtv gasket maker. I'll give it a go. Next one is Elring.

What's your thoughts on a rubber cover gasket instead of the cork one?
I'm having some difficulties on sealing properly my cover with the cork ones. Tried 2 different brands already and not much luck....

There are locking plates for ordinary nusts. However if you use self locking nuts its fine without.

They were already there. Any recommended place to buy a good joint? Preferably with lubrication...

My propshaft joint is destroyed and flew away in the street along with the locking "C"s that lock the propshaft to the diferencial. I can't remember if there was a set of locking plates there or not. Parts catalog only refers to commodore. Not rekord. Anyone can confirm this?

Running pretty smooth now. And got to the conclusion that my new rotor and distributor cap are the wrong ones or not so good. Installed the old cap rotor and cables and voilà... A new car...

I don´t have this screw. Never did. Some BMW 2002 has the same carb and don´t have it too

Any simplified manual/method available for the Solex adjustments? Shop manual is a little bit confusing
