...the air cleaner in the lower pic is a simple 14" from american suppliers like "Mr.Gasket" or "Edelbrock". They are available at any shop dealing with american parts. Usually the opening for the carb is round and can be adjusted by certain adapterplates/gaskets/filler.

Hi coralreef,
the lower picture shows my dirty engine...
I got the air cleaner from eBay.
http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie ... OC:DE:3160
The connection was a 130mm diameter, which needed a bit of "treatment" to fit over my Zenith carb (135mm).
There also was an opening prepared (to be broken out) for the small "breather" hose.
So it fits pretty well and effects no clashes under the bonnet.
But our German "officials" wont like it.
b.t.w.
It makes almost no difference to the noise.
So, if you want to get loud, you better care about the exhaust system...
It makes also no difference to the fuel consumption.
But I've heared the other day, that we petrolheads measure in smiles-per-gallon, rather than miles-per-gallon...
But hang on ... you've got a GS!
Twin carbs!
Then forget about the written stuff.
..exept the smiles-per-gallon thing.

I was hoping for a "these fits right on, so go buy those link", but ill see what i can find. Im sure i can dig something up, even for the double GS carbs .
Loud - no, just looks good to me, plus my standard filter box is all rusty and empty for filters ...
