Moin aus der Opel-Stadt Wolfsburg,
habt Ihr eine Idee, warum die kürzer sind? Sind die längeren Limo-Armlehnen vielleicht der umklappbaren Rückbank im Weg? Habe mir schon vor langer Zeit eine rote IA zusammengesucht und die hinteren Türverkleidungen sind natürlich von der Limo - das heißt mit den längeren Lochabständen für die Limo-Armlehnen. Ich hoffe, dass man die langen Dinger trotzdem verbauen kann...

Jop, Ladefläche umbauen. Gab's keine Caravan Verkleidungen hinten? Muss man halt immer beide Türen aufmachen.

Nachdem ich die Pappen damals gefunden hab, habe ich nicht mehr gesucht. Habe auch nie welche im brauchbaren Zustand für den Caravan gesehen. Meine großen Armlehnen sind im sehr schönen Zustand, dann wird es wohl so bleiben.

Was haste denn, Normal oder Luxus?

Um erhlich zu sein, ich weiß es nicht... Die IA wird eh ein Sammelsurium aus verschiedenen Versionen sein. Es sind diverse Chomleisten dran, unten meine ich sogar eine breitere. Und das untere Kunstleder is krisselig/rauh also nicht glatt.

Das ist Luxus Ausstattung. Dann hat die Armlehne auch ne Chromleiste die auf der Verkleidung weiter geführt wird. Und passende rote hintere Aschenbecher..

Yes, absolutely conceivable. Early advertising images only show chrome ashtrays at the back, whether luxury or not. To be honest, I haven't really got to the bottom of it yet. It has an ashtray listed for red, beige, blue and black, each up to and from Fgstnr. For all units except SZ and SZ6.

As far as I know, the colored leatherette has the indicated embossing that can also be found on the trim and seats. But I could be wrong.

Yes, that is a pretty difficult area to read in parts catalog. What I can say about our cars: my wife 5-door luxus Caravan (late summer 1967) has the chromed in back and also my 2D Sprint (February 1968) had chromed as well. And the two sets of similar red door panels I bought (for Sprint) had also chromed...

Coupes had very different ash trays in back, there is no room for any artificial leather decoration in them.

And yes, the leather imitation pattern in the piece of artificial leather (PVC plastic, I believe?) in ash tray must match with the pattern used in door panels.

I once owned a Commodore A 4 Door Sedan 12/67, which also had the full chrome rear ashtrays. What surprised me was that the ones with the colored, I think it's the same material as on the door and side panels, look more elegant to my eye. And the colored ashtrays are significantly more complex to manufacture. A metal base plate, then a thin foam pad on which the colored material rests and is then attached to the frame.

Yes, it is same material for matching the panels. I have seen quite a few of them in different colors, but all have had the pattern matching for late 1969-1971 materials. Have you seen any which would match for example 1968-1969 materials?

It's more complex indeed, but in the end cheaper materials as pressed steel which is chromed... May end to be cheaper construction after all when automated machines put them together.

That's not certain, I remember it that way. But I could be wrong. I'll remember when I'm back at Headquarter tomorrow.
