What do think about upgrading the original flat oil pump cover for the one with the valve?
My Rekord is an early 67 1.9S. Should I stay with the original or upgrade?

That one has integrated oil pressure valve. If going for it, you need to make sure that the original valve will not open anymore. When this type of oil pump cover came to market, Opel released a service bulletin and a parts kit for making the original valve fixed in the older chain cover.

If the original valve is worn out, yes. But if it's working correctly, this will not improve things.
